Issue 3 of ACRES Donegal newsletter out now

The latest issue of the ACRES Donegal Newsletter is out now and this time the focus is on Landscape Actions. The ACRES Donegal Newsletter was created to provide short snippets of information to help ACRES Co-operation farmers understand the scheme better and to prompt farmers on upcoming deadlines.

This issue provides information on Landscape Actions that can be used to help slow the flow of water on your land. Flood waters will carry away sediment and other pollutants so holding it in the right place or slowing it’s flow is important. We also have a feature on the kind of landscape action plans approved in Window 1. These farmers will be carrying out these actions in the coming months. The new LA Window is now open for applications and we feature some information on Salmonberry (an invasive plants that is spreading across Donegal) and encouraging shareholders to consider actions for the commonages.

We are delighted too that Lesley Taylor, a sheep farmer from Cloghan, has agreed to feature in Episode 2 of our Upland Voices podcast.
